Michel Wanten

Op 10 jarige leeftijd begon Michel met turnen en op 29 jarige leeftijd in 1949 werd Michel overgehaald om naar Moed en Volharding te komen om hoofdtrainer te worden van de turnkring.
In 1997, dus 48 jaar later, hangt Michel zijn pet als hoofdtrainer aan de haak.

Onder de leiding van Michel kende turnkring Moed en Volharding een stevige groei en behaalde menig succes met zijn turners en turnsters.
Zijn doel was dan ook: "De jeugd via de turnsport begeleiden naar een gezonde geest
in een gezond lichaam."

Als hoofdtrainer van de club maakte Michel natuurlijk ook deel uit van het bestuur.
Hij was zelfs enkele jaren voorzitter.
Michel kreeg door zijn jaren van toewijding aan de turnkring ook menig verdienste waar we er hier enkele van opsommen.

1975 Zilveren Medaille in de Kroonorde (na 25 jaar turnleider)
1980 Gouden Medaille van Erkentenis (na 30 jaar turnleider)
1990 Diploma en ereteken 1ste klas van het Bisdom Hasselt (na 40 jaar ten
dienste van een parochiale vereniging)
1990 Gouden Turnpantoffel vanwege de M.e.V. Jeugd.
1995 Schaal van sportverdienste van de gemeente Heusden-Zolder (na 45 jaar ten
dienste van de turnsport bij Turnkring M.e.V.)
1995 Salto-trofee van de Katholieke Vlaamse Turnfederatie.

In 2004 richte turnkring Moed en Volharding voor de eerste keer op zelfstandige basis een regionale wedstrijd in de de naam Cup Michel Wanten kreeg als erkening van zijn jarenlange steun aan de turnkring. Ondertussen is deze regionale wedstrijd uitgegroeid tot een mooie vriendschappelijke internationale wedstrijd. De eerste 3 edities van de Cup Michel Wanten deelde Michel nog zelf de medailes en bekers aan de winnaars uit.

Op 5 augustus 2006 namen wij afscheid van Michel Wanten.

In ons hart en met de Cup Michel Wanten blijft hij echter voortleven.

At 10 year old Michel began with gymnastics and at the age of 29, in 1949, Michel was persuaded to become head coach of the gymnastic club Moed en Volharding. In 1997, so 48 years later, Michel hangs his cap as head coach on the hook.

Under the leadership of Michel, Gymclub M.e.V. knew a robust growth and earned many successes with his gymnasts and gymnasts.

His goal was: "To guide the youth with gymnastics to a healthy mind in a healthy body."

As head coach of the club made Michel of course also part of the Board.
He was even a few years President.

Michel got through his years of dedication to the turn circle also many merit where we enumerate here some of there.

1975 silver medal of the order of the Crown (after 25 years turn leader)
1980 Gold Medal of Acknowledgement (after 30 years turn leader)
1990 Diploma and Medal 1st class of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Hasselt (after
40 years at the service of a parochial Association)
1990 Golden Gymnastic slipper because of the M.e.V. youth.
1995 scale of sport merit of the municipality of Heusden-Zolder (after 45 years at
the service of the turn sport at Gymclub M.e.V.)
1995 Salto-trophy of the Catholic Flemish Gymnastics Federation.

In 2004 for the first time as a freelancer a regional contest in the recognition of the name Cup Michel Wanten got his many years of support to the turn base. In the meantime this regional competition is an a nice friendly international match. The first 3 editions of the Cup medals and Michel Michel Wanten still own the shared cups to the winners out.

We say goodbye to Michel Wanten on the 5 of august 2006.

In our hearts and with the Cup, however, he continues to live on Michel Wanten.

Sur 10 ans Michel commencé avec la gymnastique et à l'âge de 29 ,en 1949, Michel persuadé pour devenir entraîneur-chef du Gym Club Moed en Volharding. En 1997, jusqu'à 48 ans plus tard, Michel bloque sa casquette comme entraîneur-chef sur le crochet.

Sous la direction de Michel savait tourner post robuste croissance et courage et persévérance beaucoup ont valu un succès avec ses gymnastes et les gymnastes.

Son but était: « la jeunesse à travers les sports tour guide à un esprit sain dans un corps sain ».

Comme entraîneur-chef du club fait Michel bien sûr aussi partie du Conseil d'administration. Il a encore quelques années le Président.

Michel a obtenu par le biais de ses années de dévouement au cercle tournant aussi nombreux mérite où nous énumérer ici certains de là.

• Médaille d'argent de 1975 de l'ordre de la Couronne (après 25 ans de tour leader)

• 1980 or médaille de reconnaissance (après 30 ans de tour leader)

• 1990 diplôme et médaille de 1ère classe du chausson tourner or 1990 catholique

diocèse de Hasselt (après 40 ans au service d'une Association paroissiale) à

cause de la jeunesse M.e.V..

• 1995 échelle du mérite sportif de la commune de Heusden-Zolder (après 45 ans au

service du sport tour à tour cercle M.e.V.)

1995 Salto-trophée de la Fédération de gymnastique catholique flamand.

Todd r courage et persévérance en 2004 pour la première fois en tant que pigiste qu'un concours régional à reconnaître le nom coupe Michel Wanten a obtenu de ses nombreuses années de soutien à la tour base. En attendant ce concours régional est un beau match amical international. Les 3 premières éditions des médailles de la coupe et Michel Michel Wanten possèdent encore les tasses partagés aux gagnants sur.

Dans nos coeurs et avec la coupe, cependant, il continue à vivre sur Michel Wanten.
